Gas Utility Industry Announces
Blue Flame Award Winner: Cleveland KGL Series Gas Floor Model Kettles
(Washington, DC) The Energy Solutions Center (ESC) is pleased to announce that its Blue Flame Alliance Consortium, dedicated to bringing new gas solutions to the commercial sector, including the foodservice industry, has selected Cleveland’s Steam Jacketed Floor Model Kettle (Model KGL40T) to receive the 2024 Blue Flame Product of the Year Award. Cleveland will be presented with the award at The National Restaurant Show, Chicago, IL on May 18, 2024.
This year’s winner provides the most powerful kettle available. The 40-gallon model is rated at 160,000 BTU’s while the 60-, 80- and 100-gallon models are rated at 190,000 BTU’s. The KGL series has a patented “turbo charged” gas heating design. This results in the fastest cooking and recovery speeds and boiling up to 40% faster than the competition. These kettles are also certified for use over combustible floors. Compared to a traditional burner design, these kettles offer a 15% – 30% higher efficiency which can translate to thousands of dollars per year in savings. A standard feature is the built-in self-diagnostics with 6 diagnostic error codes; it continuously monitors internal functions. The color-coded pressure vacuum gauge allows the operator to identify kettle vacuum for optimal performance (green zone). The vent air zone easily identifies when vacuum is lost. The KGL series also offers solid state temperature controls with less than 5ºF (1ºC) temperature variance allowing superior cooking control from simmer to rapid boil with no burning or scorching.
